Hope's not something I've ever really held on to. When I was younger and more of a day dreamer, maybe. It's just not something I've thought of much.
But why not? We should hope. We should want things, we should try for things.
Hope leads to doing things with a passion. And I believe in passion, in doing what you believe in. And you have to hope that it'll work out in order to try.
I think it's fine, healthy even, to have some realism. You can admit possible points of failing. But sometimes those can be conquered. Hope for that.
It's interesting how this affirmation of hope has come about to me. It's come about when something I hoped would work out, didn't. So I had to give up hope in that. But I decided I had to keep hoping. I have to hope for better things and brighter days. I hope for what's best.
"So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but he greatest of these is love." 1 Corinthians 13:13.
Yes, love is the greatest, but hope is in these three things. Hope must not be forgotten, and it shall not, for it abides.
Abide: to wait, to endure, to remain, to continue. Hope abides.
